Meeting Reconvenes
At 2:25p.m., Chairman, Julie Bohl, called the Second Session of the 26th Annual Tres Dias International Assembly to order.
Julie Bohl then requested Jim Bickle to come forward and give the revised attendance report. Jim reported the following information on attendance. The total number of attendees was 150, with the breakdown being 100 observers and 50 delegates, with a total of 207 delegate votes representing 23 communities. The 207 total delegate votes is a correction to the 119 votes as previously reported in the first session.
The Elections Committee had an announcement to make. Paula Boyd reported for the committee, stating in response to an elections inquiry from a Delegate, they reviewed their records and found that there were two more International Secretariat members who are completing their terms of office as of today. As a result of the realignment of community representation on the International Secretariat, we are happy to announce that Bruce Cato and Jeff Mehl have become members of the Secretariat with terms expiring in 2007.
There were no items of new business to discuss. However, we had a report for the Assembly on a matter that was referred to the Administration Committee at the 23rd Assembly in New Jersey in 2002. Since we need to have closure on this matter, Bill Boyd, Executive Vice President, reported on the issue of whether or not to increase the number of board members on the International Secretariat. After learning that big business and the other Fourth Day movements have far fewer board members [on average 8-12], it was decided to not increase our number of Tres Dias Board members (which is now 27.) Julie asked everyone to review the contents of the Annual Report, put together and distributed earlier by Terry Gilbreath.
Recognition of Planning Committee
Julie Bohl thanked everyone from the Altoona-Johnstown community for hosting this assembly. On behalf of the International Assembly, Julie then requested Jim Bickle, the Planning Chairman of Altoona-Johnstown Tres Dias, to come forward as the representative for his community. She presented him with a framed picture of a double rainbow ending over Ebensburg titled “Doubly Blessed.”
