Welcome
At 8:45 am, Valerie and Jeff Mehl of the Mid-Hudson Tres Dias Community welcomed everyone to the Tres Dias International Assembly. Both have been serving on the International Secretariat, as well as the local board. Valerie headed the General Planning Committee for this gathering that also celebrates the 35th Anniversary of Tres Dias. Sue LoVerso, President of Mid-Hudson Tres Dias, greeted the Assembly on behalf of the community.
Invocation
Pastor Dan Whitley, one of the M-H TD community spiritual directors, gave a prayer of invocation prior to the commencement of the meeting.
Keynote Address – “We Are the Bridge”
Pastor Dan Whitley introduced Rev. Tom Zahradnik, General Manager and CEO of Sound of Life Radio. He blessed us with the keynote address, “We are the Bridge,” that inspired us to continue with our mission to be the bridge to help the Christian community grow and become more mature.
Procession of the Banners [Video of Banner Parade]
Banners from each of the member communities of Tres Dias were displayed encircling the Assembly Hall. Delegates and Observers from each of the communities in attendance carried the banner representing the Pescadores of their communities. The grand procession brings to mind the thousands and thousands of men and women worldwide who have been touched by God during their Tres Dias experience. Local community musicians also performed “Jesus is the Bridge,” with words and music written especially for this Assembly by Ed Bishop.
FIRST Business Session of the 28th INT’L Assembly

Call to Order
The 28th Annual Assembly of Tres Dias International convened at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2007. The meeting was held in Poughkeepsie, NY. The Chairman, Julie Bohl, presided. She began by asking John McKinney, the first President of the national organization of Tres Dias, and Bruce Cato, the current President of what is now the international organization, to speak about the Roots and the Branches of Tres Dias—our historical and our present day story.
Recognition of Communities in Attendance
Paul Weis, VP Membership, then called the roll. As each community’s name was called, those present quickly stood to be recognized.
The Two Governing Bodies of Tres Dias
Julie then called attention to the functions of the two governing bodies of Tres Dias: the International Secretariat and the Assembly of Delegates. The gathering of all the Secretariats at the Annual Assembly provides an opportunity, not only to do the business of Tres Dias, but also to provide motivation, information and ways to learn, to share, and to experience God’s grace through camaraderie and worship. She encouraged each person to fully participate in every aspect of the Assembly. She reviewed the responsibilities of the Assembly, including those that are carried out by proxy vote.
Introduction of Appointed Parliamentarian
William R. (Bill) Boyd was appointed as the Parliamentarian. He briefly explained the meeting protocol as directed by the Roberts Rules of Order, newly revised edition, October 2000.
Introduction of Appointed Officers of the Assembly
The following officers were appointed to serve the 28th International Assembly: Rosann Miloscia, Recording Secretary; Ann Wyatt, Financial Secretary; Dave Clouser, Treasurer; and Sue Loveland, Registrar.
Presentation and Approval of “Standing Rules of the 28th Assembly”
The Standing Rules of the Assembly were presented. Ben Seal made a motion to approve the Standing Rules. Judi LeMasurier seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Presentation and Approval of Agenda
The agenda was presented. Mervyn LeMasurier made a motion to approve the agenda. Ken Kessler seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Call for motions for New Business to be Presented to the Assembly
Motions for New Business may be made in writing by a Delegate and presented to the Assembly Chairman by 1 PM for consideration of discussion under New Business.
Last Call for Proxy Ballots (Elections, Budget and Assessment, The Chairman, Julie Bohl, made a last call for Proxy Ballots on Elections, Budget & Assessment, and approval of issues that affect the By-laws.
Paula Boyd, Chair of the Elections sub-committee, Pat Kessler, Jim Bailey and Beau Bruce, were ordered to tally the votes.
Special Introduction
Julie Bohl recognized Dave McManigal, known among his peers as the “instigator of Tres Dias.” Dave received a standing ovation when he was introduced as the Rector of Tres Dias #1.
Attendance Report Presented
Registrar, Sue Loveland, presented the attendance report and verified a quorum. There were 211 total attendees: 120 Observers; 91 Delegates; with a total of 262 Delegate votes represented.
Annual Report Presented
Julie then introduced the current President of the International Secretariat of Tres Dias, Bruce Cato to present the Annual Report. Bruce presented the highlights of the Annual Report of the work of the Secretariat over the course of fiscal year 2006-2007. He included information on new opportunities for accountable funding of communities in need—especially for being in compliance with legal requirements for governments of overseas communities.
Voting Results
The Assembly Election Committee, Paula Boyd, chair, Pat Kessler, Jim Bailey and Beau Bruce explained the voting policy and procedures. Beau Bruce presented the Voting Results. There was a total of 279 proxy votes received.

A Time of Prayer
Rev. Hal Vink led The Assembly of Tres Dias Secretariats in a prayer to thank God for His wisdom and guidance in choosing our new officers and members of the International Secretariat.
Break/Workshops/Lunch
At 11:08 a.m., the Chairman, Julie Bohl, announced a recess in the Business Session for instructions, a short break, the first Workshops of the Assembly and lunch. Following lunch, the 30-minute Informal Session was held.

Meeting Reconvenes
At 1:45 p.m., Chairman Julie Bohl called the Second Session of the 28th Tres Dias International Assembly to order. She introduced Pastor Jin of the Mid-Hudson Korean United Methodist Church, the host church for our meeting. Julie recognized Pastor Jin and the trustees of the church for their remarkable hospitality. She presented Pastor Jin with a photograph of the Church’s beautiful stained glass window.
Pastor Jin addressed the Assembly and invoked God’s blessing on our gathering and the work of Tres Dias.
Acknowledgement of Past Presidents and the Secretariat Executive
The Chairman, Julie Bohl, acknowledged the past presidents of Tres Dias International who were in attendance. She announced them by name, community and number of terms served.
John McKinney, 1st President, Mid-Hudson TD, 1 term; Mid Hudson is where Tres Dias started. Since 1993 John has served as Secretariat Executive, a staff position.

New Business
Julie Bohl announced that there was 1 item of New Business received by the 1 PM deadline. It was postponed until Adele Smith, the delegate who requested this motion, was present.
Stories of God’s Grace from Tres Dias Around the World
Andrei and Anna Dubrovsky from Moscow, Russia were invited to share briefly how God’s grace has been manifested in the Tres Dias communities in Moscow and St. Petersburg where they continue to grow in numbers and in service to our Lord. A little later Hugh McCann from Tres Dias in Ireland shared his experience of God’s grace as seen in the Tres Dias community in Ireland where Catholics and Protestants participate together. He gratefully reports that the political situation is more stable at the moment.

Julie Bohl called on Sue LoVerso, President of M-H TD, to accept our thanks on behalf of the entire community of M-H TD for their intense preparation, thoughtful hospitality, prayer and palanca. She asked Valerie Mehl, Chair of the M-H Planning Committee for the 28th Annual International Assembly, and Jeff Mehl to come forward. On behalf of the International Assembly, Julie thanked Valerie for leading and inspiring the team that hosted the Assembly and prepared for the 35th anniversary celebrations—the Friday night birthday party and the Saturday night gala dinner. Some of the team members were already at the second location for the evening gala preparations. Those team members present stood for the entire team to receive our grateful recognition.
New Business
Adele Smith presented the following motion as read by Julie Bohl.
For future meetings, I move that the election results that are presented orally at the Assembly, also be given in writing to all the delegates before the close of the Assembly. In addition, I would ask that a separate e-mail with the election results be e-mailed to all delegates and local Secretariats within one week of the General Assembly.
Ben Seal seconded.
There was a call for communities to have an opportunity to caucus. Written ballots were provided for the floor vote. The motion passed.
Invitation to the Next Annual Assembly
Julie Bohl invited Beau Bruce to rise and make an invitation and a motion regarding the site of the next annual Assembly.
The motion: I move that y’all are invited to join us at North Georgia TD in Atlanta for the annual Assembly and Secretariat Meeting to be held on July 11-13, 2008.
Richard Thornhill seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Passing of Banners
Valerie and Jeff Mehl of M-HTD community passed the banner of Tres Dias International to Beau Bruce, representing the North Georgia Tres Dias community, the site of the next Tres Dias International Assembly, July 11-13, 2008.
International Secretariat of Tres Dias Meeting
The first International Secretariat meeting of the new fiscal year will begin tomorrow morning at 8 AM at Mt. Alvernia, Wappingers Falls, NY, site of the M-H TD weekends. All were invited to attend and to participate on the standing committees of the Secretariat.
Announcement of Future Meetings
The fall meeting is scheduled for October 26-28, 2007 and will be hosted by Central Connecticut TD in Torrington, CT at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
The spring meeting of the International Secretariat will be held March 14-16, 2008, hosted by Trinity Valley TD in Gun Barrell City, TX. The two closest airports are Dallas or Tyler.
The 29th Annual Tres Dias International Assembly and Secretariat meeting will be July 11-13, 2008 hosted by North Georgia TD in Atlanta, GA.
The fall meeting will be from Oct. 24-26, 2008 hosted by Maine TD in Portland, ME.
The spring site and dates will be announced at a later time.
The 30th Annual Tres Dias International Assembly and Secretariat meeting will be in July 2009, hosted by TD Cleveland.
Break/Workshops
The Assembly was recessed for one hour for the second set of workshops. Upon return from the workshops, Julie announced the Treasurer’s Report supplied in the annual report is through the end of April. There is available an updated Treasurer’s Report through the close of June 30th.
Installation of International Tres Dias Secretariat Officers and Members
The meeting was reconvened at 4:15 pm in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as we worshipped, shared communion and affirmed our commitment to God’s work. The Rev. Dan Whitley officiated at the installation and consecration of the new Officers and members of Tres Dias International Secretariat.
Reading of Minutes
Following the commitment service, the meeting continued as Rosann Miloscia read the Minutes of the International Assembly.
Ben Seal made a motion to approve the minutes as corrected. George Treutle seconded the motion. Motion carried. The minutes were approved by a unanimous vote.
Adjournment of 28th Annual Assembly of Tres Dias International
A motion was made by Sue Loveland to close the 28th Annual Assembly of Tres Dias. Sue LoVerso seconded the motion. Motion carried. We adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
