What is Tres Dias?

Tres Dias is not your typical “retreat,” but an encounter with Christ. If you ask those who have experienced this three-day weekend, you may hear words like: renewed, refreshed, rekindled. And they will tell you their walk with Christ is deeper and more meaningful.

Why is that? Because they sensed God’s love in such a dynamic way that it motivates them to impact their home and work environments for Christ. They return from the weekend inspired to use their gifts and talents as servant leaders in their local church.

Tres Dias is a lay-led ministry with clergy playing an active role. The focus of the weekend is God’s unqualified love for each of us through grace. We do not discuss doctrine, but instead, stress the things Bible-believing denominations have in common, while respecting the things that are different. Our Tres Dias “Statement of Beliefs” are based on the historical principles of the Christian Church.

Tres Dias Is a Worldwide Organization

A Tres Dias weekend is guided by a set of guidelines we call: The Essentials, which are set forth by Tres Dias International (TDI).

Every local community, chartered by TDI, will be similar in structure, yet have their own distinct flavor. Men and women attend separate weekends, and communities typically host two sets of weekends each year.

We call those who attend “candidates” or “pilgrims,” who have been invited by their sponsors to attend. They can expect talks and testimonies on themes vital to the Body of Christ, as well as group discussion, meaningful fellowship, music and singing, fun, surprises, and plenty of good food. We always say that the weekend is not the time to begin a diet!

Local communities select delegates who represent them at the annual Assembly of Tres Dias Secretariats held in July and hosted by rotating communities.

If you come to an Assembly, you will find an excited group of people who want to share their love for the ministry that has enhanced their life with the Lord.

The International Secretariat (Board of Directors) conducts the year-round business of Tres Dias, charters local organizations, and proposes changes in policy for approval by the Assembly. Local members are encouraged and welcome to join Standing Committees. Contact tresdias@tresdias.org and find out if it is something that God is calling you to be part of.
