President’s Corner – May 2023

UPCOMING EVENTS:

1- TOWN-HALL STYLE ZOOM MEETING:  We are organizing a “Town-Hall Style” Zoom meeting on Thursday, June 8th at 7:00 pm Eastern Time.

This meeting is open to the following groups of Pescadores:

All community leaders (President/Chairman/LayLeader, etc)

Local Secretariat Members

Local Committee Chairs

Please note that registration is required, and the deadline for registration is 12:00 pm Eastern on June 8th. If you belong to any of these groups, I would encourage you to register here.

2- ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF TRES DIAS SECRETARIATS (Live event):   Our Annual Assembly is scheduled for July 13-15, 2023 and is being hosted by Binghamton Tres Dias.  This is an in-person event that will include Essentials Training and a lot of activity over the 3 days.  Registration is required, so check out the details on our website.  Community leaders and Secretariat Members are especially encouraged to attend, but this is open to all Pescadores, so we’d love to see you there.

3- PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP FOR PESCADORES ONLY:  We created a Facebook Group for Pescadores last month which already has over 450 members.  We’re hoping this will be a good source for sharing information about our communities and connecting with other Pescadores worldwide.  (For instance, there is a post from someone in South Korea who shared a picture of their church that was designed like Noah’s Ark, and actually sits in water!)

Keep in mind that there are two Tres Dias Facebook pages – this is private whereas the other is open to the public.  We’ll be keeping most of our sharing and conversations in the private group.

If you’d like to join us, simply go to the registration page and answer 3 easy questions.

THIS MONTH’S BLOG ARTICLE IS:

HOW TO MEASURE THE HEALTH OF A TRES DIAS COMMUNITY

This is a tough question since it’s multi-faceted, can be very subjective and difficult to quantify, but let’s give it a shot.  Here are some, admittedly, subjective parameters to consider:

PRE-WEEKEND PHASE:

Do sponsors receive training on how to sponsor candidates?

Are there repetitive issues related to the quality of sponsorship?

Are candidates provided with the “Tres Dias Statement of Belief” as part of the application process to make certain they understand the focus of the weekend?

Is there a diversity of churches that generate candidates?  <Please click here to continue reading>

I do hope you find this information informative. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or comments.
