Spring 2025 International Scretariat Meeting Overview

Virtual meetings can be as engaging as in-person gatherings. This was the case on March 1st, when Tres Dias of Central Arizona (TDCA) served as the host. This community in the Grand Canyon state had just completed their 45th set of weekends!

Pescadores logged in from all over the country to stay in the loop with TDI and see what’s going on with our beloved ministry. The bonus for attending is being able to join in on committees where the real work of TDI transpires.

The theme TDCA chose was “Life.” The Scripture Deuteronomy 30:19 reminds us that we can choose life, walk in God’s ways, and enter into His blessings.

A friendly welcome came from TDCA President Al Macklin and Beth Medders offered the invocation. Jim Langdol led worship as we praised God from the comfort of our homes or wherever we happened to be that morning.

Highlights of the meeting:

  • Essentials are the absolute guidelines which must be followed to hold the Tres Dias Distinction. Essentials bind all Tres Dias communities together with one set of instructions for all to follow. Extras, what we call traditions, are what make each community unique.
  • To develop a closer walk with God.
  • To develop Christian Leaders in our communities.
  • The Assembly meets in-person every July, and this is an occasion that truly binds communities together in a special way. This three-day event is hosted by a different community each time, and it’s an opportunity to really connect in the “De Colores” way. We have ice-breakers and take meals together. We exchange ideas, share triumphs and challenges, as well as discover ways other communities operate. You always walk away encouraged and excited at how God is moving in this ministry.
    • For a short period in the three-days, the TDI Secretariat, along with delegates from each community, vote on any issues at hand. After committees meet, they present their minutes to the Assembly body.
  • TDI exists for guidance to all communities to continue the success of the Tres Dias method. As issues and questions arise, policies may be developed that help clarify. To maintain consistency of the stability of Tres Dias, TDI assists in the training and starting of new communities.
  • Expand, increase training and travel for the Liaison Program. We need more liaisons whose primary role is to be the conduit between TDI and their assigned communities.
  • Increase Pescadores use of the Tres Dias.com website. The goal is to make the website an invaluable resource for all communities: policies, procedures, position papers, TD supply catalog. The website lists dates and times of TDI meetings, community weekend dates and locations, and contains blogs and interesting articles.
  • Continued monitoring and training of emerging communities.
  • instituting the role of an “Essentials Steward” for all emerging communities
    • Existing communities are encouraged to add this role to their secretariat, possibly as a committee. This person, or committee, would be the point person on all the Essentials, be up on policies coming out of TDI, and make sure the Essentials are taught in an effective and timely manner.

Next TDI meeting: July 2025 Assembly in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Registration is open.
